The Renovation Project
The Vihara is one of the oldest Buddhist monasteries in the United States — a cherished spiritual home serving the DC community for over six decades. Like any aging building, it now needs our care in return.
We are currently addressing several urgent repairs: fix water leaks, repair water damage, replace the HVAC system, etc. We are actively gathering competitive bids from contractors and are ready to move quickly.

How You Can Help
We are looking for dedicated volunteers to help manage the renovation — from meeting contractors and obtaining bids, to coordinating with the board and organizing community helpers. No construction experience required; just reliability and a willing spirit.
